I worked in a high-street clearing bank for 23 years, the latter years as assistant manager.
A shrinking branch network meant there was eventually no branch for me so in 1997 I left to pursue some personal ambitions. In 1999, driven by a lifelong love of driving and a leaning towards coaching and tuition discovered in the bank (teaching people to use new computer systems) I decided to investigate a career in driving instruction.

I trained with Learner Driving Centres, one of the largest driving school franchises in the country. The Department for Transport, the police, the Institute of Advanced Motorists, driving instructors’ associations (e.g. MSA & DIA) and road safety officers have all praised the LDC tuition system.

My training as an instructor started in 1999, I started teaching in 2000 and passed my final instructor examination in 2001.I am a member of the Driving Instructors' Association, the Association of Professional Driving Instructors and I am a Pass Plus registered instructor.
