Driving Lessons. Learning to drive should, on the whole, be an enjoyable experience. There is however a great deal of new information to absorb and new physical skills to be mastered and sometimes it appears to be a daunting prospect. Don’t worry. I'm not going to throw you in at the deep end. My lessons are structured and both of us will have a plan for your long term progress as well as for the next lesson. Using the DSA Driver's Record we will keep track of your progress lesson by lesson. Let me do the worrying while you are at the wheel, concentrating on your new driving skills.
How Many Lessons? My lessons are a full hour. In the early days, when I may have to drive you somewhere suitable for a lesson to take place I allow extra time for this, so you still receive a full hour of tuition. You can take one lesson a week, if that is what you want. Most people seem to make better progress if they take two lessons a week. This will involve a higher weekly cost, but fewer lessons (and thus lower costs) in the long run. If you want to do semi-intensive lessons, say four or five or whatever per week, then I will make a timetable to fit your needs.I would not normally recommend trying to learn to drive in one or two weeks. With the theory test and the time it often takes to book a practical test why not pace yourself over a longer period and reduce your stress levels? Practice in-between lessons improves progress, if there is a suitable car and qualified driver available. Parents; have a word with me about that and I'll offer some tips for reduced stress.
